Ancestry.com offers the world's largest of online collection of U.S immigration records and it's yours to use FREE this weekend. This is a great way to try it out and see if it's something you'd like to pursue!
You'll be able to search millions of immigration records, including ship passenger lists, petitions for citizenship and a host of other documents, at no charge. They're hoping you'll get hooked and sign-up for a membership after this weekend...and you just might, it's a very cool site.
Just now I was able to find my Fathers name on the ship manifest that brought him into Ellis Island in 1956! It took me less then a minute! How cool is that?
So you may want to spend part of the the Labor Day weekend traveling back in time!
